Busy Weekend for Five Cities Keichu-Do

A lot has been happening recently at Five Cities Keichu-Do. One exciting event was a demo which took place the day after the Bakersfield tournament. Sensei, Sempai Miriam, Sempai Benjamin, Daniel, and Jesse were part of a team that included other area martial artists and Andy Wilson, who recently returned from China where he was inducted into the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame. We were honored to take part in his church's second anniversary celebration by using our martial arts skills in this outreach event.

Andy Wilson began the demo with a thrilling butterfly kick, followed by some impressive nunchuku techniques. Three Nipomo martial artists then demonstrated their skills, including escrima fighting and defenses. The rest of us did open hand and weapons kata. Here Sempai Benjamin is presenting his kama kata:

The end of the demo featured some breaking. Here Jesse demonstrates a successful board break:

Andy Wilson had given his testimony about how God saved him and set him free from fear, ignorance, and religious tradition. As the grand finale, he broke three bricks, demonstrating how, by the grace of God, he was now a conqueror:
