We will also be featuring, for the first time, Iri kumi as an event. This can be thought of as continuous sparring without points --- competitors will be judged on how well they controlled and dominated the match, which will be decided by two out of three rounds. It should be very exciting!
"What's this about bragging rights?" one student asked with grave concern. "Isn't Keichu supposed to be about humility and not about bragging?" Very true. There is, however, a proper way to "brag". One can state quite humbly in the dojo, "I was pleased that my hard training paid off and that I was able to fight my way to Dojo Grand Champion of November's Fighting Friday." An even more proper way to brag is to let others do it for you. Rest assured that everyone in the dojo will know the identity of the Five Cities Keichu-Do Grand Champion for November!
