Morning workout

My biceps tendinitis is better than Saturday, but still worse than it was before I competed. I'm getting used to having to modify my workouts, but I'm still not happy with the situation.

This week I'm trying a somewhat different training regimen. I headed to the gym early for cardio---25 minutes of vigorous cycling on the recumbent stationary bike. Then it was off to the dojo. I had a good half hour workout, concentrating mostly on kicks, with some flexibility work thrown in. Then I did the kata I've been running in competition, going through it at super-slow motion and working on each little detail and nuance. I also ran through my previous competition kata a few times, at a relatively easy pace and intensity, concentrating mainly on the kicks and some of the hand positions.

My plan is that tomorrow I'll do cardio and weights at the gym. Wednesday will be just cardio. Thursday will be cardio and weights again. Friday will be cardio and martial arts.

Tuesday and Thursday, before and in between classes, I'll try to get in some training, depending on how the shoulder is feeling. Maybe some more kata work, or kicks to the heavy bag, or something...

This has dragged on for months. It's difficult not to get whiny about the soreness and about having to modify my training. I feel like I'm missing a lot.
